The management of local development with an integrative approach

Abstract

A theoretical and methodological concept allowing the establishment of a procedure to introduce newer managerial technologies within local socioeconomic development in Cuba is proposed. The entire implementation of this concept will mean a new dynamics concerning local administration participation in the management of national socioeconomic development. Besides, it will also complement those managerial development processes centrally planned. Such a concept and the suggested procedure will harmonize Cuban current economy and society with the specific managerial technologies applied in local administrations. Elements from the contemporary theory on endogenous development are summarized. The experience comprising more than ten years of research on this field in Camagüey province and its municipalities, as well as some other results from investigations and practical experiences are presented.
