Abstract

Objective: conceptualize the effectiveness for the hotel sector from the study of the state of the art and the development trends of this sector.

Methods: it corresponds to a qualitative, non-experimental investigation, where the method of content analysis of publications on the effectiveness and development trends of the hotel sector is applied, which allowed to objectively systematize and validate the main regularities in the treatment of term by collecting information from different sources and interpreting or analyzing it.

Main results: the definition of effectiveness for the hotel sector based on its main development trends.

Conclusions: current development trends in the hotel tourism sector require hotels to adapt their management strategies to the needs of tourists, where customer loyalty will be decisive. In this context, efficiency, effectiveness and customer loyalty represent the dimensions of effectiveness, which implies the necessary reconceptualization of the term. The definition of the conceptual limits of these dimensions of effectiveness and their relationships constitute essential aspects to keep in mind for carrying out the evaluation of effectiveness for the hotel tourism sector
