The businessman in socialism: criteria for the exercise of his role. Background in José Martí and Ernesto Guevara

The objective of this study is deepening into the criteria on the entrepreneur’s functions in order to establish, consolidate, and develop the socialistic means of production. Socialist and capitalist entrepreneurs’ work content and functions are discussed as different ways in approaching both means of production respectively. Problem solution is considered the fundamental action in entrepreneur’s functions; therefore, the criteria to be taken into account to fulfill his or her role according to the socialistic means of production are specified. These criteria are traced back to the revolutionary thoughts and practice of José Martí Pérez and Ernesto Guevara de la Serna.
