Quality Management Assessment in Ahora! Newspaper, Holguín Province, Cuba

Abstract

Quality management was assessed in Holguín’s Ahora! Newspaper, in Cuba. The evaluation procedure was validated in the province, and it allows process determination and evaluation of the main performance indicators. Besides, it enables identification of factors that hinder quality management, and recommends improvement strategies accordingly. Some of the  techniques and tools utilized  were interview, observation, documentary review, brainstorming, surveys, and mathematical modeling of indicators. With  this procedure, quality management assessment will  be  more  effective  in  the newspaper, in terms of human and material resources management based on a proper documentary system. The main contribution of this research was a procedure devised to assess quality, which can be used to evaluate the other processes that take place in the newspaper
