Abstract

A training and development strategic profile was designed and applied through a procedure based on labor competence for the position of specialist in car rental at Transtur subsidiary in Santiago de Cuba province. Methods and techniques used were the historical-logical method, the inductive-deductive method, the analysis and synthesis method, the Delphi method, the holistic approach, the Ishikawa diagram, surveys, and interviews, among others. The procedure takes into account the labor competence level as well as the training development process, both associated to the car rental position, in order to design the strategic profile. Once the labor competence level is identified and evaluated, the current and prospective status of those elements integrating the training and development process can be established. Consequently, possible gaps can be detected and, hence, an action program to eliminate or lessen problems can be suggested.
