Abstract

Innovation is not still attuned to general understanding, no matter that it has overflowed reality. This paradox and the debate on this issue within the European Community is dealt with in the present paper. The term non-technological innovation is used as a hypothesis to be included in the existing debate, based on the excessive emphasis put into technology; moreover, the importance of Latin America participation in the debate is pondered. A brief discussion on the current changes happening in labor, knowledge, and organizations categories in relation to people is introduced, and arguments dealing with the need of widening up the perspective of innovation management as a way to encourage enterprise role and sustainability are supported.
