Objective: To implement a procedure for the prospective analysis of hotel processes of the Barceló SolymarArenas Blancas- Allegro Palma Real Complex.
Methods and techniques: With a mixed research with a predominance of qualitative research and for the systematization of the information, the following methods were used: induction-deduction, analysis-synthesis and bibliographic review were used for the systematization of the information. The following methods were used to collect and obtaining results: documentary review, observation, interviews, group dynamics, brainstorming and prospective workshops.
Main results: The conception of a procedure for the prospective analysis of hotel processes, where in its first stage the process to be prospectively analyzed is identified and selected, and a stage for the proposal of improvement actions is incorporated. This allows to organize and structure in a transparent and effective way the collective reflection on the aspects and challenges of the future with an evaluation of the strategic options, which makes the execution method different from the traditional procedures implemented. Eleven associated key variables, 25 stakeholders, possible future events and the desired scenario were identified, defining seven improvement actions for the strategic planning process.
Conclusions: The applied procedure is feasible and relevant, contributes to greater consistency in making changes, improving hotel management performance and anticipating new challenges and opportunities generated by external conditions and international realities.
