Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess management as a way to potentiate science, technology, and innovation based on the performance and experiences of the municipal university affiliated school (SUM) «Calixto García» from Holguín province, Cuba. The important role played by this school as a dynamic and linking agent promoting science, technology, and innovation for community local development; the lack of models and methodologies for management implementation, and the inefficient tools applied in its treatment were the reasons that motivate the study. Thus the main goal was defining the management process as a potentiator of science, technology, and innovation and finding out its actual connection to the municipal university affiliated schools. An integrating and systematic management technology for this process was suggested. Results showed their theoretical and practical contribution to define and arrange management as such, and also importance in providing methodological and organizing tools for the management process.
