        Abstract

        The importance of two population settlements in producing their environmental goods and services is proved. These settlements are located in the vicinity of the wetland associated with the Wildlife Reserve from Rio Máximo in Camagüey province. Observation methods, interviews to native people, and the assessment of the wildlife reserve economic reports were performed. The production of environmental goods and services so far estimated could become a system is designed. The need of strengthening the link between the wetland-wildlife reserve and the population settlements through an economic incentive is highlighted.
