Competitiveness and product development at the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of Camagüey

Abstract

Objective: of this article is to base a systemic and correlational approach to determine the influence exerted by the competitiveness of CIGB Camagüey on product development.

Methods and techniques: were applied: abstraction, historical-logical, questionnaires: surveys and interviews (to find out the opinion of company managers and workers and experts on the subject), statistical-mathematical. To process the data, the following software was used: Excel, SPSS and MIC-MAC.

Main results: it produced is: a systemic and correlational approach was developed to determine the influence exerted by the competitiveness of CIGB Camagüey on product development. The systemic and correlational approach applied demonstrated its methodological value, since it allowed to identify the advantages of business competitiveness by influencing the development of products in the CIGB Camagüey.

Conclusion of the study, it was observed that: said center is competitive and adequately uses the factors of product development, being able to carry out actions, in order to increase its competitiveness, in factors such as: management skills, investment in R&D and lead times product development
