Abstract

A methodological procedure to diagnose productive structure as a tool to generate alternatives encouraging productive links in territorial horizontal merger is dealt with. In Cuba, productive links are randomly established, thus hindering coordination among those involved in territorial production and limiting horizontal merger. Range and role as well as the advantages for local development. This study contributes to an adequate updating and creative adaptation to Cuban municipality status of theories, models and methods internationally applied to the horizontal merger assessment processes. The study  also  helps  to  the  implementation  of  new  tools  to  identify  associated  gaps according to sound and scientifically sustained bases. A tool contributing to fulfill the stated objective is offered to scientists and public administration bodies. The designed procedure  has  been  implemented  in  diagnosing  productive  horizontal  merger  from Mayarí municipality, Holguín province, Cuba, leading to the formulation of a productive link strategy.
