Abstract

The purpose of this study was to exemplify how local employment could solve problems in different sectors. The policy for labor reorganization in Granma province, Cuba, was examined. Guidelines to create local production links leading to local productive systems were proposed. On the one hand, local production links including animal food, livestock production, canned fruits and vegetables; on the other, cooperativization of detached services like photos taken at parties and of integral services. Potentialities of local productive systems to generate new activities with new products and, at the same time, create new jobs sources were assessed.
